The studio
A builder that thinks like an engineer.
Shennington is a construction company working across the United Kingdom. We take on buildings and infrastructure that carry real constraints — tight urban plots, historic fabric, live campuses, working railways — and we deliver them with one team from first survey to final handover.
We're deliberately broad. Homes, workspace, schools, hospitals, heritage repair and heavy civils all draw on the same in-house disciplines, which is how detail learned on one job carries into the next.
What ties it together is a simple habit: solve the hard problems on paper, then execute them exactly on site.
“Careful on paper, exact on site.”

What we hold to
Four principles.
Buildability first
We test how a thing gets built before we agree to build it — the sequence, the access, the temporary works. A drawing that cannot be built cleanly is a problem to solve on paper, not on site.
Respect the setting
Whether it is a listed façade, an occupied ward or a fell above a live railway, the surroundings set the rules. We plan the works around what is already there and already working.
Own the whole chain
Groundworks, structure, envelope and fit-out sit with one accountable team. When quality slips, there is no gap between trades to hide in — and no argument about whose problem it is.
Finish properly
The last stretch of a job is where reputations are made. Commissioning, snagging and record information get the same attention as the frame going up.
